Description:
Points of scientific interest:-
1. Photography of large, faint areas whose maximum light is of the order of one-ten millionth of a candle power per square degree.
2. Elimination of the concentration of light in the centre of a plate in the ordinary lens and flat plate camera.
3. A practical method of magnifying contrasts, necessary in the photography of large faint areas and of use in photometry.
