- Description:
- The exposures given were computed from the known constants of lens and plate together with the measured brightness of the object being photographed. The negatives were developed to a gamma of unity. The density of the negative was measured, and form the values obtained and the known speed of the printing paper the correct exposure in printing was computed. The negatives having been developed to a gamma of unity, a printing paper having a maximum gamma, approximately equal to unity, was chosen as being the most suitable.
The prints were developed for a fixed time, which was known from previous measurements to be just sufficient to give a gamma equal to the maximum gamma of the paper being used. - Exhibit type:
