- This exhibit shows that the resolution obtained in a photographic plate is greater if the exposure is made with light of short wave length. This effect is most apparent in the Slow Lantern Plate, which is almost completely insensitive to Mercury Green Light.
The negatives were made by exposing to monochromatic light a photographic plate carrying a sharp knife blade.
The films were stripped from the glass and sections were made through the edge of the image. These sections show the spreading of the edge of the image and the distribution of the exposed grains. - Exhibit type:
