Description:
The essential principle is the dyeing of a fish-glue print with aniline dyes. The points of novelty consist of:- (1) The discovery of the fact that while few dyes have the power to impart any great depth of tint to the print, the successive application of certain dyes causes one to precipitate the other and build up any desired depth of colour. (2) The selection of suitable dyes to obtain practically all colours pure and degraded. (3) The discovery of a suitable medium for insulating one printing from another for the preparation of multi-colour transparencies.
Full formulæ are given on the exhibit in addition to a number of illustrative prints.
