- (1.) A lump of sugar dissolving in water. Photographed by divergent light. It shows the simultaneous propagation by two distinct methods - emissive and undulatory. x 20. (2.) Diffusion of sugar in distilled water. x 4. (3.) Diffusion of a drop of distilled water in salt water. (4.) Fusion of two drops of distilled water in a salt solution. (5.) Diffusion of a transparent drop of a solution of sodium nitrate in a mixture of solutions of sodium carbonate and phosphate.
