Description:
(Spotted Medick)
People who attach a superstitious value to "four-leaved clover" usually imagine that it is very rare. All the trefoils and medicks, however, readily produce more than three leaflets in a leaf, if growing at all luxuriantly. The group of leaves photographed (½ scale) were gathered from one root, and shows two ordinary leaves of three leaflets each, one "four-leaved" and two "five-leaved" clovers.
