- Description:
- The Boleti are not gilled as in the Agaricidę, Nos. 9 to 28, but the spores are formed within the pores, which are shown in slide No. 29. B. submentosus and edulis are edible, while B. satanas is a poisonous species attaining a large size, the one photographed being 6½ in. in diameter. No. 31 is a remarkable form of B. edulis, the deep indentations being probably due to the dry situation in which it was found growing.
