Exhibit title:
Direct photograph in colour of the Solar Spectrum
Exhibitor:

Section:
Scientific and Technical Photography and its Application to Processes of Reproduction
Exhibit No.:
431
Description:
Taken direct in camera on “Uto” paper, on July 12, 1907, since when no perceptible degradation of the colour tints is to be noticed. The print is not fixed, so that it gives some measure of the permanency of the dyes used.
It will be noticed that each of the colour tints in the prismatic sequence is very true, and so far as is known, this is the only process, other than the Lippmann interference method, which is capable of reproducing pure or simple spectral colours.
