Description:
The owl commonly called the brown or wood owl rears its young in various situations in a wood, a barn, or a hollow tree. Owing to the persecution it suffers at the hands of game preservers and its partiality for very dark places for nesting sites, photographs of its domestic life are rare and very difficult to obtain.
