Description:
When the photographs were taken the nestlings were nearly ready to leave the nest. They were quite ravenous for food and both parents were kept busy: directly these came within a dozen yards of the nest they were greeted vociferously by the whole brood of young, who vied one with the other, open mouthed and squealing, for the first mouthful, and in their excitement even ran out of the nest to meet their parents.
