- Description:
- Taken with the Thompson Photoheliograph, of 9 inches aperture, and 9 feet focal length. In use, the aperture is stopped down to 4 inches, and a positive magnifier is employed, giving an image of the sun about 7½ inches in diameter on the photographic plate. A and C are positive copies on glass the same size as the original negatives, and show the entire disc of the sun. B is a positive enlargement on glass, four times the scale of the original, and shows only the central portion of the disc.
