1906 Fifty-first Annual Exhibition of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain
Exhibit title:
A Sand-Flow in the Forms of Seaweed
Exhibitor:
Vaughan Cornish
Section:
Scientific and Technical Photography and its Application to Processes of Reproduction
Exhibit No.:
370
Description:
The diameter and form of surface of a small trickle of water are determined by capillarity, and the little tongues of sand deposited thereby have consequently the diameter of a large drop of water. The smallest resistance deflects laterally the thread of water, and these lingulae are laid down side by side with such surprising celerity that the process of their formation would form a suitable subject for a cinematograph.
