Description:
A miniature Delta showing sand deposited in lingulae, or little tongues. The flow of water from the sandy cliffs at Bournemouth, reduced to a trickling thread, deposits its burden of sand in little tongues (lingulae) giving an appearance similar to that of seaweed hanging from rocks at low tide. The structure is more perfect on the steeper slopes.
