Description:
These moths came to the Eastern Province suddenly in enormous quantities during the Christmas week of 1899 to 1900; were supposed to have come from Mauritius and Bourbon; they completely destroyed the fruit crops, grapes, figs, and pears, by puncturing, which caused the fruit to rot and drop off.
