Description:
This has a clear working aperture of f/4, and covers an angular field of 60° with sharp marginal definition, being free from curvature of field and astigmatism. Its construction will be seen from the illustration, and further particulars of it have been given in the Photographic Journal, vol. xx., p. 117, in a paper entitled "Astigmatism and a New Stigmatic Lens," by Hugh L. Aldis, B.A. (Cantab). The exhibit consists of four sizes of the lens, foci 5½, 6¾, 8¼, and 11 inches respectively.
