Description:
The Memorandum-Size Frena takes pictures on films 3½ in. x 2 5/8 in., forty of which are carried in a pack as in the other Frena cameras; although the mechanism of the film-changing has been considerably altered. The film holder in this form of camera is taken out for recharging. The films are placed in it just as supplied, and the pressure board of the film holder replaced. The holder is then put in the camera and the back closed. It is provided with a revolving finder which may be rotated, so as to show the exact image that will be photographed in the vertical or horizontal finder hole respectively, an indicator to count the number of exposures, and a shutter with five different speeds, 1/5, 1/10, 1/20. 1/40, 1/80 second, also allowing time exposures. The lens is a single achromatic Beck lens, provided with diaphragms operated by a knob on the front of the Camera. The swing back is obtained by tilting the holder in which the films are held until the bubble of the level in the handle is central. The focal length of the lens is 4 1/8 inches, the stops provided being f/11, f/16, f/22, f/64. A swing of about 20° can be obtained by employing the smallest stop. Its weight, charged with 40 films, is 2¾ pounds, dimensions 9½ x 5 x 3½ inches. This exhibit is provided with 40 films for the camera, and a set of magnifiers for enabling objects to be focussed as near as 3 feet from the camera.
